APS Parents and Guardians:
Many students will participate in state testing this spring. Participation is important because results help students, parents and teachers understand whether students have mastered the content, they need to know by the end of the school year to be on track for college and career success. We ask that you prepare your students to do their very best on these upcoming assessments. We sent you an email that includes test information, frequently asked questions and a guide. If you did not receive the email, please visit the APS website at aurorak12.org
CMAS Schedule: dates and times subject to change.
CMAS
Colorado’s assessment system is called the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS). In 2009, Colorado implemented more rigorous academic standards known as the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS). The new standards set clear, consistent guidelines for what students should know and be able to do at all grade levels. To accurately measure student mastery of these skills and expectations, Colorado adopted CMAS.

Health Guidelines for the 2022-23 School Year
Our health measures are in accordance with guidance from local and national health agencies who strongly recommend we take a layered approach to mitigating COVID-19. This means using multiple mitigation measures layered to prevent its spread.
Health Guidelines for Student Athletes in Grades 6-8
We would like to share health guidelines and expectations for student athletes in grades 6-8 to protect against the spread of COVID-19. Our top priority is ensuring that students remain safe and healthy while participating in athletics in APS. In order to keep our student athletes as safe as possible, we will adhere to the following health guidelines for the 2021-22 school year.
Technology Needed for 3-8 Online Program
Parents, please contact us to pick up technology and Chromebooks if you have not done so already. You can pick up at the APS K-8 Online Program location at the former Century Elementary building, 2500 S. Granby Way, Aurora, CO 80014. Please call 303-745-4424 with any questions.
What is the APS 3-8 Online Program?
For families that choose fully remote learning from home, the APS 3-8 Online Program will serve students in 3rd through 8th grade. Please note that by choosing the 3-8 Online Program, you will be selecting a remote learning option for your child for the entire 2022-23 school year. Your student will learn from fully remote teachers and will NOT be connected to teachers or other students at their home schools.
Occasionally, fully remote learning students may receive in-person services at the Century Elementary building. This may include services for students with special needs or testing that requires students to be in person. The learning site will be located at the current Century Elementary School building. Students will be expected to log online and join live remote teachers (synchronous learning) for parts of the day every day. They will also be expected to be self-directed and working independently (asynchronous learning) for some of the day. If you would like to choose the fully remote option for the entire 2022-23 school year, we ask that you complete the APS 3-8 Online Program Enrollment Survey. Students will be on a waitlist for each grade level once slots are full.
A Day in the Life
What will a typical day learning online look like?
A student participating in the APS 3-8 Online Program will be interacting with teachers and support staff daily primarily through a variety of virtual settings using multiple online tools. There will also be opportunities for in-person support.
